There are so many reasons to take part!
Everyone is welcome to go along, whether you walk, jog, run, volunteer or spectate, you can learn new skills and enhance your health and happiness in the great outdoors whilst making new friends, feeling part of your local community and improving your fitness.
Also, on a personal note…. We do understand that the Lakes Entrance course is a great one for getting a PB and a few locals have the set the course limit so it would be great for them to get some fast competition.

Gippsland Lakes Paddle Challenge
Experience the thrill of paddling on the open waters of the Gippsland Lakes, Australia's largest inland waterway. Take in the stunning views of the man-made entrance on the 90 Mile Beach, where the lakes meet Bass Strait. The challenge begins at Paynesville for elite paddlers or Metung for recreational paddlers, with both courses ending at the iconic Lakes Entrance Footbridge located just across the road from Beachcomber Holiday Units.
The 27km course from Paynesville to Lakes Entrance is recommended for experienced paddlers aged 15 and above, while the 13km course from Metung to Lakes Entrance is suitable for novice to experienced paddlers aged 10 and above.
Join us on Saturday, May 6th, 2023 for an unforgettable day on the water. Early bird entries open on February 1st, 2023, with a chance to win a prize for early registration. Entries close on April 30th, with a $40 penalty fee for entries received after May 1st.

Friday: Teams meet at the Waterwheel Hotel. Registration between 4 pm - 6 pm. Late registrations by 6 pm incur a 50-point penalty. Briefing at 7:00 pm.
Saturday: Key tags distributed at the Waterwheel Hotel from 7 am. Fishing from 7 am to 4 pm. Photos judged from 4 pm. Late submissions incur penalties.
Sunday: Similar schedule with photos due by 3 pm. Presentation at 7 pm.
Rules and Regulations:
Teams of 2 to 4 anglers using artificial lures only.
Fish photographed alive on the official 2024 Bragmat with key tag visible.
Points scored based on the team's best 10 flathead.
Safety and fishing regulations must be followed.
How to Participate:
Check-in at the Waterwheel by 4 pm Saturday and 3 pm Sunday.
All anglers must have a valid Victorian Fishing License.
Boat operators require a current boat license and safety gear.

Lakes Entrance Parkrun
Parkruns are free, weekly, community events that occur all around the world.
The Saturday morning event is 5km and takes place on and along the Foreshore across the road from us at Beachcomber Holiday Units. So, there is no need to work off any of your energy getting to the starting line when all you need to do is stroll across the road.
Parkrun is a positive, welcoming and inclusive experience where there is no time limit, and no one finishes last.
There are so many reasons to take part!
Everyone is welcome to go along, whether you walk, jog, run, volunteer or spectate, you can learn new skills and enhance your health and happiness in the great outdoors whilst making new friends, feeling part of your local community and improving your fitness.
Also, on a personal note…. We do understand that the Lakes Entrance course is a great one for getting a PB and a few locals have the set the course limit so it would be great for them to get some fast competition.

Hooked on Lakes Entrance is heading back to Lakes Entrance this coming Labour Day long weekend.
The FREE event is back on Sunday the 10th of March.
This year’s event on the Lakes Entrance Foreshore straight across the road from us at Beachcomber Holiday Units is running from 10am till 4pm and has something for everyone including:
• Seafood cooking and filleting demonstrations
• Free Fishcare 'Come and Try' fishing clinics for kids and families.
• Maritime Safety Vic Float Safe inflatable lifejacket clinics.
• Visit the commercial fishing boat tied up to the wharf for seafood sales.
• Pop up bar.
• Kids amusements.
• Family-friendly areas to enjoy the waterfront views.
