Lakes Lights: Gardens of the Galaxy

Step into an illuminated wonderland on the shores of Lakes Entrance as Lakes Lights returns for one spectacular night only.

This year’s theme, Gardens of the Galaxy, will transform the foreshore into a magical world of giant lantern sculptures, projection art, immersive soundscapes, glowing installations, and roving performers — including the famous Lakes Entrance Sea Hags.

Departing from the Venture Out shop, this guided kayaking and SUP adventure takes you across the beautiful Gippsland Lakes with several delicious food stops along the way. Enjoy your picnic aboard your kayak or SUP, or hop ashore to stretch your legs and soak in the lakeside views.

Along the journey you’ll discover hidden corners of the lakes, spot local wildlife, and enjoy plenty of photo opportunities while experiencing one of the most scenic parts of Lakes Entrance.

Need a reset this winter? Join the Gippsland Jersey Winter Dip and take the plunge into the Gippsland Lakes as the sun rises over Lakes Entrance.

Bring your friends and family, rug up, and get ready for an invigorating morning that is all about community, wellbeing, and stepping outside your comfort zone. While the water may be icy cold, participants leave feeling energised, refreshed, and connected.

What began as a simple mental health initiative for the Gippsland Jersey team has grown into one of the region’s most uplifting winter traditions, with more than 200 people taking part in 2025.

Cold water immersion is known to help improve mood, energy, resilience, and overall wellbeing, but it’s the shared experience, laughter, and encouragement from the crowd that makes this event so memorable.

All registered dippers will receive a free Gippsland Jersey hot drink after the swim to warm up and celebrate.

Located directly across the road from Beachcomber Holiday Units, the Winter Dip is a fantastic way to experience the East Gippsland Winter Festival and start your morning with something truly memorable.
